Definition of Privileged communications:

1. Confidential communications protected under law against any disclosure (whether forced or voluntary) over the objection of the holder of the privilege. Doctors and therapists, in general, have comparatively fewer privileges, and can be compelled to testify in certain cases such as child abuse.

2. A communication made between such persons and in such circumstances that it is not actionable, unless made with malice.

3. A communication that may not be entered into evidence because of a protected relationship between the speakers (as an attorney and client, husband and wife, or doctor and patient).
