Definition of Chargeable weight:

1. Break bulk cargo: Gross weight of a shipment on which freight charges are computed.

2. Containerized cargo: Gross weight of the shipment less the tare weight of the container.

3. Low density (voluminous) cargo: (1) Air cargo: dimensional weight of the shipment. (2) Land or Sea cargo: Weight of the shipment in measurement tons.
